Live on the Internet

Once You Know, You Newegg

We have been to several churches around the country, some very large and some very small. Most of the large churches have some form of streaming media already in place. Some have all services and some have teachings. I receive e-mail newsletters from various churches, some everyday and some weekly. On the other side is the smaller churches. I get to visit on Sunday with the pastor and other key people but after that, I wait for next Sunday. I asked several small churches why they did not have a website and why they did not webcast their services. The response was generally the same, money. Money was the number one answer. I began to research this and even talked to some of the media people in the church. I found that 90% of them had information from years ago when streaming online was a new thing and it was very expensive. Most gave me this big list of all the things that they would need and how much each part cost. I have to say that ,yes webcasting WAS a lot of money at one time. Now webcasting is not much money at all. In fact, streaming on the net can be done no matter what your budget is. Most churches already have everything it take to start this Sunday. The churches simply don’t know they have what it takes. Visit this page on our site to see a diagram of the online streaming setup. Here is the link. If you need a few of the small pieces to finish your live netcast setup, you can find the items here.

When it come to the service you use to stream, I have some available here. http://www.comf5.com/myministrylive. They have packages from $10.00 a month. There are some free services out their like ustream.com but I have to warn you, the “free” services are not ad free. And you have little or no control on the material advertised. I would encourage you to try the ComF5. There is no contract to join so you don’t like it, just cancel.

After I finish telling the media team and pastor about this and how easy it is the live stream I always get a big thank you. Most say, “I never knew that it was so easy and affordable to get my message out to the entire world”. Sometimes, they ask me to dinner to talk more and my response is, ” Your dinner for just this meal will be more than one month of webcasting.” Think of how many souls will be touched by your message. The church members can now go back and watch an archived service and get a better understanding of your message.

Thank you for reading this post. Please bookmark this site and share it on FaceBook etc. I encourage you to come back and see new information and updates that are useful in your ministries media.

Value of a ‘Fan’ on Social Media: $3.60

1:46 PM in General Posts by Brad

The findings are based on impressions generated in Facebook’s news feed.

Brands have rushed to Facebook to build fan bases, with some amassing millions of connections. The question has been:
What is the monetary value of these fans?

Social media specialist Vitrue, which aids brands in building their customer bases on social networks, tried to put a media value on such communities.
The firm has determined that, on average, a fan base of 1 million translates into at least $3.6 million in equivalent media over a year.
The company’s findings are based on impressions generated in the Facebook news feed, the stream of recent updates from users’ networks.
Vitrue analyzed Facebook data from its clients — with a combined 41 million fans — and found that most fans yielded an extra impression. That means a marketer posting twice a day can expect about 60 million impressions per month through the news feed.

“It’s important to understand that once you build that fan base, you want to make sure you’re leveraging it,” said Michael Strutton, chief product officer at Vitrue.

Vitrue arrived at its $3.6 million figure by working off a $5 CPM, meaning a brand’s 1 million fans generate about $300,000 in media value each month. Using Vitrue’s calculation, Starbucks’ 6.5 million fan base — acquired in part with several big ad buys — is worth $23.4 million in media annually.

“It helps [marketers] justify the spend they’re making, especially in acquiring a fan base and engaging that fan base,” Strutton said.

Of course, the figures don’t include perhaps the most powerful incentive for brands building fan bases: social customer-relationship management. Marketers often use their Facebook hubs to inform fans of new products, services and promotions.

“When you start to [add] engagement value, it goes higher,” said Strutton. “We were trying to get an easy-to-understand valuation terminology.”

What does this mean for the church? I think this proves the power of social media and this is an enormous tool to use to share Jesus with millions of people from your computer. Put the dollars listed above and change them into souls for the Kingdom and your Heavenly account will be huge!

Media Department Dream

12:14 AM in General Posts by Brad

I have used services in the past for streaming and I have found that the best is COMF5 the site is at http://www.attainresponse.com/myministrylive This service is between 9 and 99 dollars per month and has no ads. The video is High quality. It requires a normal internet connection, usb cable or other video input device (30 dollars), audio into your microphone jack, and a basic 300 laptop computer mac or pc. It uses Adobe media Encoder 3 (free) and thats it. Some churches using this now are bobbyhogan.org, innercircleministries.org, oasiscc.org, mohi.org just to name a few. This service also integrates your web, audio, marketing, newsletters, email and much more. You can archive your video, make playlist, make audio playlist, do pay-per-view, have powerpoint slides included in broadcast, have chat with viewers, have stats on views, have co-hosting(with another broadcaster–no account required), email invites, embed direct on website, Have several templates to choose from for newsletters, include video or audio in newsletters and emails. I could keep going but I think you get the idea. This service is great.

How to implement a Pay-Per-View with LiveF5

10:14 AM in Live Streaming by Dr. Buddy Bell

The comF5 liveF5 product has the ability to schedule a live webinar
that allows for a password prior to entering the show. Many comF5
users use this mechanism to integrate with a third party payment
processor such as PayPal and connect a PayPal transaction prior to
giving access to that password. This allows for a PPV to be
accomplished with the LiveF5 tool.
For example:
1. From MediaF5 select the LiveF5 tab
2. From the LiveF5 interface select the Schedule tab
3. Click on “Schedule a Broadcast”
4. On the right hand panel you will see several variables to enter
5. Look for the Password box and enter a password for the broadcast
a. The scheduled live broadcast will now prompt users for the
password before entering
6. Create a Pay Pal account and create a “buy now” button with
the price of your PPV and post that HTML button to your website or
webF5 template.
7. Create a customized order summary page that includes the
password programmed into your liveF5 schedule
That’s it. You will promote your PPV and have your PayPal button next
to a description of your PPV. When the complete their transaction with
PayPay the confirmation page will issue the password to the LiveF5
program
